Sentinel
            Building
            & Transamerica Pyramid

            The Sentinel Building
is reportedly owned by Francis Ford Coppola, the Transamerica was
foist upon an unsuspecting public in the early
seventies. I think it must have been very controversial to have been
dubbed "Pereira's Prick" an understandable dig at its architect.
            For all
happy snappers it provides a stark contrasting architectural style
to include in ones frame when photographing the elegant copper coated

cupola of the Sentinel. Once up close the viewer can assess the qualities
of each. The Transamerica is seemingly totally constructed of
reinforced concrete, its surface blunt and dry, light does not reflect
off it well. The Sentinel is appealing and interesting in shape, in

colour and in character. Character seems to be what the TP lacks,
it looks..... robotic, something like a transformer, you
            just
seem to be waiting for it to
            change
            into something...
more interesting? Definately meant to be viewed at a distance
            for best benefit.
